About Les Shulman

An ex-pat American, originally from Brookline, MA, I reside in a humble mostly adobe abode in rural Churintzio, Michoacan MX along with my wife and a menagerie of mascotas. However, first and foremost, I consider myself to be a birder and not a worder.
My other ex-es include (nah, I don’t mean in my personal life) being first an executive chef and last a social and economic social worker.
Having a philosophical bent (not normally, if ever, in the mainstream) my writing philosophy is (no offense intended to Rene Descartes or was that Jean-Paul Sartre?): I think therefore I write. I think more because I write. Whether I exist or not is not dependent on if you “like” me or not. Yet, it doesn’t hurt if you do.
Nowadays, I write in humorous (?) and oftentimes satirical (sarcastcial!) verse because my priorities are first to entertain (myself, if not others) and then kind-of-sort-of inform, oft rhyming along the way.
Plus in that form of verse I don’t have to give a hoot about the correctness of speling, puncturation: syntex, or grammer:
Moreover, I have a propensity to utilize fun puns and sometimes with rhyme but never any  apparent reason non sequiturs.
Most importantly, when I write I am guided by the words of that most important of American philosphers, Ricky  Nelson:
“But it’s all right now, I learned my lesson well.
You see, ya can’t please everyone, so ya got to please yourself.
lot-dah-dah-dah lot-dah-dah-dah lot-in-dah-dah-dah”
