The Montezeuma Oropendola

Did you see that clownish looking Montezeuma Oropendola as it zoomed on by?

It dependola’s whether or not you blinked.

The Sunbittern

Of this I’m certain

A tern it isn’t

Although when it turns it looks almost like a heron

but it isn’t even a little bittin’

and if I don’t ever see  a sunbittern

No fun, perhaps I’d  become  a wee bit bittern

As with the birding bug I’ve been bitten

Since with this amazin’ bird I’m smittern.

 

 

 

 

The Resplendent Quetzal The Loveliest Bird Not So Arguable

I’d bet y’all a gallon of mescal or a bag of pretzel

That if you paid four grand or so

You’d go nutsal

if in Costa Rica you didn’t see even a single Resplendent Quetzal.

 

The Rufous-Crowned Motmot

Oh how I wanted to view that colorful bird with a tail like a pendulum

As it certainly would provide a memory far from humdrum

So I decided that I’d ought ought go out of my way to try to see a Rufous-crowned Motmot

or I’d feel like a real dufus.
